Earlier this year in May I did some focus groups with students from the Griffith Business School. The majority of the students who participated did some travel related studies, so it was great to hear their opinions and perceptions on climate change and travel issues. Some of the insights I received referred to the knowledge of and education about sustainability and climate changes issues, which was seen as an important part of their studies at Griffith. Some of the students admitted to try to do their best to be environmentally friendly in their daily life, however, additional costs, like carbon offset programs, or buying green or organic products, are not an option while living on a tight student budget.
As an incentive (besides the free pizza) I had a price draw of two travel guides of their choice. The two winners are Grace (see top), who choose the Rough Guide Australia, and Jacqui (see right), who choose Lonely Planet South America on a Shoe String. Happy travels!!
